I love my new Instant Pot, 6 quart size! Last night I made pulled pork from a 6 pound Boston Butt (bone in) roast using the sauté function to sauté all sides of the meat after I’d applied a rub to the meat. Then I added in liquid (broth & apple cider vinegar) and pressure cooked the meat for 50 minutes. I allowed the steam to release naturally (helps the meat tenderize) and opened the pot to find fragrant, moist meat that was falling off the bone and easy to pull apart. (See my video). The pot is easy to use and to clean. There is no smell during cooking. Highly recommend this pot to anyone who enjoys making and eating delicious food at home.

So... This is my SECOND Instant Pot. My first one is the Lux 6qt model, and it works great. It works so great, in fact, that my husband twisted my arm to get a second one. Enter the Duo. It has the yogurt button. Yogurt was the first thing I made in this IP, and it came out AMAZING. I'm never buying yogurt ever again. I can't wait for my kids to try it in the morning.

Instant Pots are so easy to use and versatile. If you've been on the fence about getting one, JUST DO IT. I've made pulled pork, chicken chili, jambalaya, macaroni and cheese, oatmeal, cracked wheat, lemon curd, chicken marsala, chicken tikka masala, and rice. I've only been doing this for about a month now. I'm obsessed. It has changed the way I cook, and it's so nice not having to stand over the stove for hours while a chili simmers. Chicken noodle soup is on the docket for tomorrow night. I can't wait.

So I finally bought this after hearing so much about it and I wish I had bought it sooner. I’ve made five meals so far and I’m satisfied with it. I made pot roast (took an hour), collard greens (25 minutes), mashed potatoes (13 minutes), African dish - ndizi za nyama which is green plantains and meat (20 minutes) and Japanese sweet potatoes (11-13minutes depending on size). All these meals I allowed 5-10 minutes of natural pressure release.

I’m so glad there’s safety features; the first time I used it, I thought I had moved the valve all the way to the side to release pressure but I didn’t and I tried to open the lid and it wouldn’t let me, I then realized my error and moved the valve to remove the remaining pressure and I was able to open the lid. Second time was when I made mashed potatoes. I forgot to put liquid in the pot and got a “burn” warning and immediately put liquid and continued cooking as usual.

I can’t wait to cook more meals on it.

Well Well Well. I finally Pulled the Trigger and Purchased an Instant Pot. So exciting !!!! So far ive used it for 2 main dishes. First of all

Packaging : nicely packed, comes with a cook book, detailed instructions and a cheat sheet. Also comes with accessories.

Quality : YOU can tell this product is made with care. Everything feels and looks sleek, high end.

How it works : OK so ive never been a fan of the old school pressure cookers. When i was young, one blew in my moms kitchen so i'm terrified. i ended up getting this. i love to cook. so many options in one. so many nice recipes. My beef stew and my lampb stew were cooked in 20 minutes from scratch and they are delicious.

If you are on the go like me, dont have a lot of time to cook, get this. Slow cook or cook with Delayed start and when you come home, your food will be ready. i love it so far. i will update as i continue to use it.

P.S there are so many online recipes for the instant pot.

Love this pot. Had added it to my wedding registry before it became insanely popular. There is definitely a learning curve, but the Instant Pot Community on Facebook is definitely an amazing resource. A lot of people expect it to be a magic pot (and it is to an extent), but you have to take the time to understand how it works, pay attention to the safety do’s and dont’s, and really give it a fighting chance. It doesn’t always take less time than the stove for every recipe (if you count the time it takes to build pressure and to release pressure naturally for the recipes that require it), but is great for one-pot meals (like meaty, cheesy pastas), meals that usually require a long simmering time (like stews and roasts), for stuff straight from the freezer, and basically anything that you want to to really have good flavor infused into it. You can cook things in the liquid/sauce in the pot directly, cook things sitting directly on a trivet, or in a smaller “pot” (another bowl/dish) on top of the trivet. Tip: Anything that is oven-safe can go in the Instant Pot.

I use it at least once a week (and usually cook in batches for the week). Among my favorite things to make are boiled eggs (the shells come RIGHT off), Greek yogurt (so creamy and delicious - can’t eat store-bought yogurt anymore), a whole chicken (so juicy and tender), carrots and potatoes (cooks super fast and come out amazing), and sweet tea (so delicious and smooth).

Would highly recommend!! I bought one for my mom (though she’s not completely sold yet), and have convinced many friends to go out and get their own.

There's no need to repeat the rave reviews of so many others. Easy to use, easy to clean, works great. Lots of great recipes available on-line to get you started. Perfect for Paleo and low-carb cooking. I also do sous-vide when I have the time but when I need to put something together quickly I go for my Instant Pot. Among the best pot roast I've ever had and it takes my Nana's "New England Boiled Dinner" to a new level. Speed and convenience without sacrificing flavor. Tougher and less expensive cuts of meat come out "fall-apart" tender. Beef, pork and chicken one-pot meals are easy to put together on short notice. One tip - order a spare silicone gasket with your new Instant Pot. It's easy to remove and reinstall the gasket. I take mine off after each use, clean it well with soft sponge, hot water and Dawn and then leave it to soak in warm water and a little white vinegar for an hour to eliminate cooking odors. Rinse well in cold water and allow it to air dry. I highly recommend the Instant Pot without reservations. Be careful - you'll get the Instant Pot Bug too!. Photo is "soft as butter" piece of top round, pressure cooked then seared with a bit of ghee (clarified butter) in a HOT cast iron skillet for about 15-20 seconds per side before serving. Melt in your mouth good.

I bought the DUO 6 quart because it offered both low and high pressure cooking. I saw the Bluetooth Instant pot, and I like technology, but...who's gonna put the food in it? lol

I hate to cook. Been doing Blue Apron for a few months and I loved Blue Apron. I decided it was time to cook on my own, and boy is this the best appliance I have ever purchased. I have cooked more using the Instant Pot than I ever have. Seriously, I can't believe the flavor of the food. The first thing I made was chicken thighs with carrots, celery, and onions. In 20 minutes, I had a meal that was so tasty even my daughter was impressed (knowing how I cook). The chicken was tender, the carrots were soft not mushy, and the flavor was incredible. When I would use a crock pot, everything I made was mushy and it all tasted the same.

The food I made in the Instant Pot was so good, that 3 of my friends bought it too, one bought the 8 quart. The stainless steel pot, along with parts being available thru Amazon is why I chose this one. There are great websites dedicated to Instant Pot, that makes finding recipes a breeze. The best thing I have figured out is this.... Find a recipe you like and use the ingredients you like, just follow approx cook time. Easy really. The user manual kinda overwhelmed me, until I realized it was in several languages..lol After you read it, go to page 17 and do the water test. (I saved the water for my house plants) Then get cooking.

Clean up...I have Farberware stainless steel I received as a wedding gift (lots) of years ago and when I burned things, was a pain to clean. But I knew I did not want a Teflon pot insert. You can saute' right in the stainless steel pot, and then close it up to pressure cooks. Surprised to say, this is easy to clean, especially after I learned to "deglaze" it...Don't laugh... :)

Occasionally I put in dishwasher just to disinfect. I found that I am using the manual mode way more than any programmed buttons.
I can't recommend it enough, from someone who really hates cooking. This is the start of my new years resolution to get healthy. According to Dr Mercola, steaming food is very healthy. You will not be disappointed!

Oh my...When I saw I could add pictures I was so excited.... Leg of lamb, Brussels sprout in 10 minutes and didn't stink up the house, fresh beets...17 minutes! Pork and Sauerkraut, I could go on. I really hope this helps anyone thinking about this pressure cooker. LOVE IT!

I'm buying an air fryer next....for the crispy things...healthy crispy things.. Have a great time cooking in this Instant Pot, it has changed my life.

Ever since I learned to make real Italian meatballs when I was a teenager, I've loved spending time in the kitchen. I enjoy creating recipes and watching people enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal. I'm not into fancy-schmancy gadgets, but I'll spend money for items that help me make good food. So, when I heard people raving about the Instant Pot recently, my ears perked up. But, I didn't want something that would just collect dust on my counter. Then I read the reviews and saw all the recipes online and decided to give it a try. Well, this baby is worth its weight in gold! I have used it every single day since I got it. I've made rice & beans, Creamy African Stew (see photos), steamed sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, oatmeal, popcorn, veggie soup and so much more. My hubby is thrilled and so am I. It's so easy to use, there are so many free recipes online and clean up couldn't be simpler. A few people have bought the Instant Pot just from my recommendation. It's THAT good. I also bought the glass cover and an extra insert for when I want to make two things back-to-back. If you are on the fence, try it. It is so worth it!

After a childhood experience that involved a pressure cooker spewing black beans all over the ceiling, I had no interest in ever trying a pressure cooker again. Until I started hearing about the Instant Pot. I've had it 3 weeks, and have used the pressure cooker function to make dishes as varied as black bean soup, butternut squash soup, dulce de leche, and cheesecake, and have also made yogurt using the yogurt function (which will scald the milk and also retain it at about 110 degrees for culturing).

My favorite aspect of it is that you set it and walk away. No more having to monitor the temperature. No more having to time the pressure phase. I also like the fact that the saute function allows you to brown the onions or meat in the same pot, before adding the other ingredients and cooking at pressure. I'm big on avoiding recipes that create a lot of dirty dishes.

The one function that is a bit disappointing is the slow cooker function. But that really isn't that important, in my opinion, because most things that I used to cook in my slow cooker, I now cook in my instant pot.

I'm planning on giving away my slow cooker, canceling my tentative plans to buy a rice maker, and happily crossing a yogurt maker off of my list.

I totally love this Instant pot now that I am getting the hang of it. I had always been afraid of just the thought of a pressure cooker. But I can honestly say that my fear has diminished. First, try making pot roast, I was running back n forth to my computer trying to figure out how to use the pressure cooking part internet is a wonderful thing. After multiple trips I finally got it. Instead of Coca-Cola chicken wings I made it with #chicken quarters and added veggies: bell peppers, turnip, giant carrots. I used cornstarch to thicken the liquid/sauce which will be poured over rice. When unlocking the pressure knob I placed a towel over it so it did not spray steam all over. The towel catches the steam that is being released. I was able to purchase this while amazon had it on sale for 68 on cyber monday. I am glad that I purchased it and I would recommend it.
update: I made a rib eye roast for Christmas meal and it came out tender moist fall off the bone. Able to use the drippings for the gravy.
